How to choose a fiber laser nozzle
Four checks, in order. Skip one and the 10-pack sits in a drawer.
1. Name the head
Read the badge on the head: Raytools BM111, a WSX model, Precitec ProCutter, BOCI BLT310, or whatever is actually bolted on the machine. Start at the Raytools, WSX, Precitec or BOCI hub. If the head is not there, use the fit finder.
2. Match the body, then the thread
The body diameter (D28, D32) has to seat in the ceramic. The thread has to match the ceramic you are keeping, or you replace the ceramic with it. Our size chart shows which rows actually list a thread. A blank thread is unknown, not M11.
3. Pick the layer you already run
Single-layer is the usual nitrogen or air nozzle for stainless and aluminum. Double-layer is the usual oxygen nozzle for mild steel. Details are on single vs double.
4. Copy the orifice, then buy the pack
Measure or read the orifice on the nozzle you pull out. Our listed bores are 1.0 through 4.0 mm and the price does not change with the bore. The 10-pack is the shop quantity. D28 and D32 10-packs are $19.90 to $22.90.
What should I send if I am not sure?
The head brand and model, a photo of the nozzle you remove, and the orifice stamped or measured on that nozzle. The quote desk answers before you buy a 50-pack of the wrong thread.
Why is fit marked typical?
Typical means that body diameter is the common shop match and the thread was not confirmed on our spec sheet. Listed means the head is named on the sheet. Noted means a photo or remark names it.
